The Museum of York County celebrates 60 years of the child in all of us, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 14, 4621 Mount Gallant Road in Rock Hill.
Climb inside a giant bubble created by the Bubble-ologist, Dale Brook. See and taste the cakes entered into the Birthday Cake Competition and cast a vote for your favorite.
Decorate a birthday safari hat and have your picture taken with MYCO the Rhino. Enjoy storytelling or a program in the Settlemyre Planetarium. For a small fee, take a ride on a plush mechanical zebra, elephant or other animal.
Bring your camera to capture all the fun, and bring a picnic lunch or purchase treats from the Museum Guild. And while you’re here, experience the new Naturalist Center, also opening Aug. 14.
Remember, anyone born in 1950 receives free admission to the museum all year!
