One of the first articles I wrote for the Observer was about the York County Surplus Auction Sale. It just fascinated me, and the men guarding the vehicles patiently answered all my questions (while probably thinking I was slightly loony). But there are some really good deals if you need a serviceable vehicle or just something to drive around the farm or hand off to your teen.
The York County Auction will be Saturday, Aug. 14, at 9 a.m., on Highway 5 beside the Animal Shelter in York. Registration will begin at 7:30 a.m. Driver’s license is required for registration and payment. Vehicles will be available for viewing starting Aug. 2. Payment will be cash or good check the day of the auction.
Vehicles up for auction include 2000 Dodge Ram pickups, a skid loader, a Ford F-350 service truck and a bunch of Crown Victorias. For a tentative list (and I’ve found they offer much more than is listed here), click here: Vehicle Auction
