Free produce for seniors

The York County Council on Aging is  issuing free coupons to low-income individuals age 60 and older. They can use the coupon to buy $25 of fresh produce at participating farmers’ markets through Oct. 15. The coupons will be issued on a first-come, first-served basis.

Seniors can pick up their coupons 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Thursday, June 24, at the Senior Center at Highland Park, 917 Standard St., Rock Hill. Applications must be made in person. Proof of identity and residence in York County is required. If you have a senior friend who is homebound, you must provide a statement from the senior granting permission to submit an application on his or her behalf. Proof of identity and proof of income for the homebound senior must be presented.

York:  Saturdays 8 a.m. to noon; Wednesdays 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Rock Hill: Mon/Wed/Fri/Sat, opens at 7 a.m. Corner of East Black and Elizabeth streets in the municipal parking lot
